Is it just me, ?? but it irritates me when people say support our troops. It's such a stupid statement, support them how?? by saying yea go in there take a chance with your life for a worthless no end cause.
George Bush should have read some books,, he would have learned that Iraq was comprised of tribes, sects and groups that have been fighting for a 1000 years.
There is no draft, those serving are there of their own free will ,, hell there isnt even a war, there has never been a declared war against Iraq, its all Bush's war,
Iraq was never a threat to the US and as we all know now there was never any WMDs and i for one believe that the administration knew that going in.
There was never Al quida in Iraq, Saddam would not had them in his country.
The military now serving is young unedecuted people who might other wise be unemployed and this allowing them to earn a living and carry out a Bush agenda so to say support the troops sounds nonsensical to me.

I agree with you 100% and the situation kinda reminds me of the army of the czar in WWI.

What is neglected here, and i hope I'm wrong, lets face it, and not to take away that these troops are continuesly in harms way but they are equipped in the most sophistacated modern warfare fighting a force in robes, sandels and a meal when they can find it, unlike the wars of the past where you had some respect for your enemy ability to strike back.
I would think these troops have been accessible to an arrogance, superiority, to take a life on wimb, as many of their commanders have given orders to shoot first ask questions later, i suppose a feeling of authority.
As i have stated these are young men and women might be left with scars not visable they have to carry through their long life along with resentments when they end their military career and find themselves flipping burgers.
Those resents might grow and i for one would not like to be on my side of the fence in a dispute or in a road rage incident.

A guerilla war always has its draw backs, especially for a group trying to fight it in a conventional way. The US learned nothing from past conflicts. If you want to see how well the troops are supported, ask the American people to sacrifice for the war. The anti-wat would grow by leaps and bounds and the conflict would be terminated. IMO, flying a flag and buying a $3 magnet for your car is not support, just a way to soothe a conscience.
