Amazes me that these people almost want to remain backwards. Yes I understand they want to honour their religious beliefs, but they are so extreme that they no longer represent the progress of mankind, aid should be halted and let them live in their barbaric ways.

History is the trap into which they have fallen.
This is another example of an internal conflict over modernism that has found its way into an act against a person external to Islam.
They claim to despise the west.
What they can't deal with is modernism.
And it's their conflict, no one else's.
I wish they would resolve their conflicts on their own.
The U.S. government has engaged in similar behavior in the recent past, whether they choose to acknowledge it or not.
We have our own anti-modernists here and we should confront them.
