Has anyone here participated in a poll?. CNN is constantly quoting polls and i wonder how accurate they are and who are these polling companies. Do they support a particular party? or special interest group ?

If one was to follow the results of these polling organizations, and believe them to be accurate, then they have selected your president for you.

A poll is like stats, they can tell you whatever you want to hear. They are not accurate. I do not trust polls, they are great when I am writing and want to make a point that must people would understand. But they are a tool to convince.

What if i started a polling organization, and after my polling of say, 2500 average Americans Ron Paul was the clear leader with 65 % of those polled saying their support is behind Ron Paul. If i gave my consensus to CNN , would they broadcast my poll results ?
So are the polling organizations leading the networks or are the networks using the poll companies and numbers to manipulate for their agenda.
Either way i see them as a dangerous presense in politics as they can act to sway those that believe them to be the gospel word of public opinion.
