WASHINGTON (CNN) – Idaho’s Republican governor, C.L. "Butch" Otter, would name an interim replacement to serve until next year’s election. Otter would most certainly name a Republican, and that person would most likely have a major edge in the 2008 contest. And here’s why: Idaho is a very red state. Sheeshhhhhhhhhh dont be so quick to condemn Larry Craig for his participation in what i think was a sting operation. This whole thing that took place in a public washroom stinks, I dont mean that as a pun but it does say that he is a very stupid man for admitting guilt to save from embarassment and his political career.

Perhaps i'm very suspicious, and perhaps even paranoid, and I want to see if he is removed as senator of Idaho as to who his replacement candidate if it has to be in a vote is introduced.

These exposed morons that would sell their grandmother for political career, that have the lack of moral values, decency and or unqualified for the their position make themselves vulnarable to change.

well, if Craig wants gay sedx that is his decision, but if he was echoeing the people's will of his district, then I say he was doing his job. He was an idiot, but to me his inclinations mean nothing. his rep of the people is the only thing I will judge him on.

I do call his samity into question. He plead guilty to a misdemenor, he now says he lied and wants ti retract his statement. thinking.......now if he does that it will be perjury and that is a felony. He needs to rethink his stuff.

As a homosexual or bisexual, Craig is no disgrace.
Instead of acknowledging himself, he played the dirty old man.
I'm only a little sympathetic. If we were in Saudi Arabia or the Hindu Kush, I'd be more so.
In some societies, the closet is no disgrace.
Here, though, given the way people are compelled to act, it certainly is.

It's Idaho.
Believe me, his successor will probably be his ideological twin.

I agree, Idaho has been suer conservative since about 1974, I believe. Not much would change in the congressional make up of the Idahoan representation.
