View Full Version : US Agressive Foreign policy
Seems that the American people are not not mthrilled with an aggressive policy.
Angus Reid Global Monitor) - More adults in the United States question their government’s rationale on foreign affairs, according to a poll by the New York Times and CBS News. 54 per cent of respondents think the U.S. will be safer from terrorism in the long run if it stays out of other countries’ affairs in the Middle East, up five points since October.
Conversely, 38 per cent of respondents think the U.S. will be safer from terrorism if it confronts the countries and groups that promote terrorism in the Middle East, down six points in nine months.

These statistics play in the Ron Pauls platform yet he's nowhere in the favourable candidate list,, go figure.
Irony, the larger percentage of the population are showing far more wisdom then those they elect.

As is usually the case, it's not a matter of finding the right platform to vote for, because they all have their good and bad.. you wind up voting for the lessor of two evils.
I dare say that before my time is over, I won't be able to say that I truely voted for the best man for the job, just the best of the worst

I'd like to say the jokes on them, but we're the suckers who keep voting.
Yep! nthe joke is on the American people because they are too flippin' lazy to change. There is a saying I like, "Americans get the government they truly deserve".
Let us talk about agressive foreign policy, something the US has been dealing the rest of the world since about 1802.

That sounds like the percentage of neocons, who are the most faithful sheep in the flock. They still think Iraq has WMD, global warming is getting a suntan, and health care is only for the chosen few who can afford it.
This presedent set by Bush with Iraq as preemtive strikes is going to open a whole new wave of wars. I can see even mediocre nations now claiming threat and striking nations without a declaration of war.
It will be interesting to see the US responce the next time someone trys it.
The US will try to rush the antagonists to the negotiation table, but they will not address what is really the cause of the conflict.
