US Cuts Deal With Tribes

The US is cutting deals for the security of Anbar, Will it come back to bite them in the butt?


TAJI, Iraq — U.S. forces have brokered an agreement between Sunni and Shi'ite tribal leaders to join forces against al Qaeda and other extremists, extending a policy that has transformed the security situation in western Anbar province to this area north of the capital.

The extremists struck back yesterday with a suicide car bomb aimed at one of the Sunni tribes involved in the deal, killing three militiamen and wounding 14.

If this trend continues Chuq how long will it be before Al quaida is an ally. After all Bin laden was once with the US., come to think of it so was Saddam,,, lol

LOL pete, when i consider your post and the cost of the war and particular the Alibar Province it might have been cheaper to pay off Al quida to be on our side and act in aggression directed by the west and at the end had a ownership a of a determined terrorist group.

After looking at the US allies in the region, I would say that it is safer to be the enemy.
